This tome contains five scenarios that you... can use in your games. Primarily, they are aimed at beginner players, but don't think they won't surprise experienced investigators! However, this is not the only thing hidden behind the "Doors to Darkness". There are additional materials for players and even tips for keepers: ideas and recommendations will make your games more interesting and deeper. Moreover, the book contains a whopping ten ready-to-use profiles of various characters that players can use – starting your journey into the world of “Call of Cthulhu” has never been so easy.

"Call of Cthulhu" is a role-playing game where the story is created by the players themselves, playing the roles of characters according to predetermined rules. To ensure that you do not neglect these rules while getting engrossed in the game, a special player called the master or keeper monitors their enforcement. They weave the players' decisions into the overall plot, develop the setting, and actions of opponents. Role-playing games can be either completely verbal or use miniatures of characters and environments to immerse players deeper into the fantasy world. Traditionally, the success of an action in "Call of Cthulhu" is determined by rolling dice: in different situations, you need to score different points for a good outcome. It is important to keep track of your character's mental health, as the human mind doesn't always withstand confrontation with the supernatural, and there is plenty of ancient magic and fierce demons in the game.

In "Call of Cthulhu", as in other role-playing games, there is no clear goal of scoring the most points or killing the most monsters. Throughout the game, you will play the role of ordinary people: police detectives, historian scientists, journalists who have encountered ancient evil and stand against it. During the game, your character may well die or go insane, after which you can create a completely different hero and immerse yourself in a new role. The main thing is to have vivid experiences from the game, going through exciting adventures in a friendly company.
