Kasjanova gads
The action of the novel takes place in the year 1900. It is a leap year, which is unpopular among the people, as it is believed to bring bad luck. According to the saints, February 29 is the Day of... Saint Cassian; the entire year is referred to as Kasyanov. For Lyokov, this year has not gone well either. At the request of the Minister of Finance Witte, he is sent to Kiev. Witte's son-in-law, Mikhail Mering, conducts risky schemes - he is involved in housing construction and, trying to deceive creditors, is cheating on collateral. Lyokov must bring him to justice. But in Kiev, the detective faces nothing but failures. The situation is complicated by the fact that people start to die, and Lyokov himself is walking on the edge - there is a hunt for him…
